Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/span> This practice covers and sets forth conditions for five modifications in salt spray (fog) testing for specification purposes. These are in chronological order of their development:<\/p>\n

1.1.1<\/span> Annex A1<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> \u2009acetic acid-salt spray test, continuous.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.2<\/span> Annex A2<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> \u2009cyclic acidified salt spray test.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.3<\/span> Annex A3<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> \u2009seawater acidified test, cyclic (SWAAT).<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

\n

1.1.4<\/span> Annex A4<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> \u2009SO2<\/span><\/sub> salt spray test, cyclic.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.1.5<\/span> Annex A5<\/span><\/span>,<\/span> \u2009dilute electrolyte cyclic fog dry test.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.2<\/span> This practice does not prescribe the type of modification, test specimen or exposure periods to be used for a specific product, nor the interpretation to be given to the results.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

1.3<\/span> The values stated in SI units are to be regarded as standard. The values given in parentheses after SI units are provided for information only and are not considered standard.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
