The calculation procedure is particularly<br \/>\napplicable to fibre-reinforced composite laminated plates.<br \/>\nSpecially orthotropic plates are balanced laminates, in which<br \/>\nlayers of equal thicknesses, elastic properties and with the same<br \/>\norientation of their principal axes of orthotropy are symmetrically<br \/>\ndisposed about a central plane. A precise definition of this class<br \/>\nof plates is given in ESDU 83035. The program uses a Rayleigh-Ritz<br \/>\nanalysis method to evaluate natural frequencies of flat plates<br \/>\nhaving any combination of simply-supported and clamped edge<br \/>\nconditions. An approximate graphical procedure is also provided for<br \/>\nthe estimation of the fundamental natural frequency of slightly<br \/>\ncurved laminated plates.
