{"id":264017,"date":"2024-10-19T17:35:52","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T17:35:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-81-412010\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T13:26:40","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T13:26:40","slug":"bs-en-81-412010","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-81-412010\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 81-41:2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>1.1<\/b> This European Standard deals with safety requirements for construction, manufacturing, installation, maintenance and dismantling of electrically powered vertical lifting platforms affixed to a building structure intended for use by persons with impaired mobility:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>travelling vertically between predefined levels along a guided path whose inclination to the vertical does not exceed 15\u00b0;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>intended for use by persons with or without a wheelchair;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>supported or sustained by rack and pinion, wire ropes, chains, screw and nut, friction\/traction between wheels and the rail, guided chain, scissors mechanism or hydraulic jack (direct or indirect);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>with enclosed liftways;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>with a speed not greater than 0,15&nbsp;m\/s;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>with platforms where the carrier is not completely enclosed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.2<\/b> This standard deals with all significant hazards relevant to lifting platforms, when they are used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see Clause&nbsp;4).<\/p>\n<p><b>1.3<\/b> This European Standard does not specify the additional requirements for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>operation in severe conditions (e.g. extreme climates, strong magnetic fields);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lightning protection;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>operation subject to special rules (e.g. potentially explosive atmospheres);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>handling of materials, the nature of which could lead to dangerous situations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vertical lifting platforms whose primary function is the transportation of goods;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vertical lifting platforms whose carriers are completely enclosed;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>vertical lifting platforms prone to vandalism;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>hazards occurring during manufacture;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>earthquakes, flooding;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>fire fighting, evacuation and behaviour during a fire;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>noise and vibrations;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the design of concrete, hardcore, timber or other foundation or building arrangement;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the design of anchorage bolts to the supporting structure;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>type&nbsp;C wheelchairs as defined in EN&nbsp;12183 and\/or EN&nbsp;12184.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE For the actual type of machinery, noise is not considered a significant nor relevant hazard.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>1.4<\/b> This standard is not applicable to Vertical Lifting Platforms intended for use by persons with impaired mobility which are manufactured before the date of its publication as an EN.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts.
