This Standard is identical with and has been reproduced from ISO\/IEC 13871:1995. <\/p>\n<p><b>Scope<\/b><\/p>\n<p> International Standard defines a set of procedures collectively called &#039;Digital Channel Aggregation&#039;, which are in the provision of an aggregated bearer service. Digital channel aggregation involves a means for the combination of multiple switched or unswitched 56 kbit\/s or 64 kbit\/s digital communications channels across one or more public and\/or private networks into higher bandwidth digital bi-directional channels between Channel Aggregation Units (CAUs) serving terminal applications at network endpoints.
