This part deals<br \/>\nspecifically with component reliability as estimated from life<br \/>\ntests which are accelerated in some manner as in the example of IEC<br \/>\n62005-2.<\/p>\n<p>Since different material systems designed to do the same job<br \/>\nwill often respond in very different ways to the same stresses,<br \/>\nboth in terms of the form of the acceleration function, and the<br \/>\nstatistical distribution of failure times (or degradation observed<br \/>\nover time), a normative standard specifying specific methods of<br \/>\nacceleration or statistical modeling is inappropriate.
