This<br \/>\nStandard shares the purpose of [1] by ensuring that an access<br \/>\nterminal can obtain service in any system that meets the<br \/>\ncompatibility requirements of [1].<\/p>\n<p>Compatibility, as used in connection with this Standard and [1],<br \/>\nis understood to mean 8 that any access terminal is able to open<br \/>\ndata connections in any xHRPD system.\u00a0Conversely, all xHRPD<br \/>\nsystems are able to open connections with any access<br \/>\nterminal.\u00a0Test methods are recommended in this document;<br \/>\nhowever, methods other than those\u00a0recommended may suffice for<br \/>\nthe same purpose.<\/p>\n<p>The performance metrics in this Standard require an access<br \/>\nterminal to provide a single antenna connector for testing. Access<br \/>\nterminals having multiple antenna, such as for receive diversity,<br \/>\nshall provide a single antenna connector for testing. If an access<br \/>\nterminal has more than one antenna connector, only one connector<br \/>\nshall be used for testing.
